Description
Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), Finnish architect and designer, made his breakthrough in the 1930s with his innovative undulating lines and organic forms. His architecture is world-renowned, including the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki and the Finnish Pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair. He also designed the Aalto vase and founded the interior design company Artek.
